Neighbor’s Table
A Free Food Pantry for Sapulpa
First Church of Sapulpa started a new ministry called “The Neighbor’s Table” a free food pantry for the Sapulpa community in partnership with the Eastern Oklahoma Community Food Bank.
Our goal is to provide nutritious food to our neighbors in the area immediately surrounding the church.
We are learning to “Love your neighbor as yourself” Matthew 22:39. In the fall, we became more aware of our neighbors’ difficulties. We could not keep up with the demand for food from our community-supported Blessing Box.
The volunteers take home such a warm spiritual feeling in their hearts.
The food pantry is located next to the church’s welcome center. Our core values are to treat our guests with dignity, warmth, and respect. It has been our delight to get to know our regular guests. We have a box for prayer requests and Bibles available for anyone who is interested.
Our guests are free to shop from a wide variety of food items rather than have their items picked out for them. The Neighbor’s Table feeds approximately 150 households weekly or about 600 people. The Neighbor’s Table is open the 1st and the 3rd Thursday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, excluding holidays. We wanted to have the pantry available during the day and in the evening for our neighbors who work.
Our prayer is that God continues to help us look for innovative ways to support our neighbors.
